West Hampstead
Our job was a full internal and external renovation of a mid terrace Victorian property, including internal structural remodelling, adding a large extension to the property and creating a structured garden area with swimming pool. The work was split into two separate contracts to allow us to move into a completed floor midway through the whole job to reduce our accommodation cost. We had a disastrous start with another building firm who we had to fire after very poor quality work, issues with the workers and very slow progress.

Resst Construction had to pick up a half finished job in poor condition that was weeks behind schedule but were able to remedy the issues and get the work completed quickly, such that we were able to move in only slightly behind schedule. The work to change the layout, finishing and completion of the upstairs floor, which is in a more traditional style, is first class and we are very pleased with the work done there.

The second part of the contract was more significant, demolishing the back of the house and building an extension, doubling of the size of the ground floor and creating a modern open plan space extending into the garden. Simon carried out all aspects of the job and was also able to provide cost effective solutions to new work and items not part of the original contact (sourcing flooring, painting an adjoining flat etc)

We made numerous changes to the spec and design throughout the job, and also had council working restrictions placed on the work, but Simon and guys were very accommodating and it was no problem in allowing for these issues, and in many cases were able to give better ideas and solutions as the job progressed. Any changes that we requested were incorporated into the overall budget at reasonable cost and in many cases just rolled into the original contact.

The guys on site were always friendly and respectful, and when living in the house they kept any works, mess etc away from us so we had no major problems surviving onsite. Overall we were very pleased with the quality of work and attention to detail, the finishing was completed to a very good quality. The job was completed on schedule and importantly on budget.

We would be very happy to recommend Simon to others looking for a reliable building contractor, as we wouldn’t hesitate in using him for any future work.

Resst Construction has recently completed the renovation of my flat and I am delighted with the results and happy to act as a referee for him and his team.
The initial project was to knock down the small kitchen and bathroom and build into the side return and garden of my Victorian ground floor flat, creating a large, open plan kitchen/living area with glass bi-folding doors across the back, opening in to the garden. It was a complex job as tenants live in the first floor flat and Simon needed to remove the supporting walls holding up their main living area without disturbing them.

I was absolutely delighted with the work they did. The room looks fantastic, the quality of their work is second to none and the whole project came in on budget. In fact, I was so pleased with the work that I then asked them to renovate the rest of the flat, including moving the walls and changing the layout of the front room and hall way, knocking an old rotten window in to beautiful double glazed French windows, building a wardrobe, draws and widow seat, paving the garden and courtyard and plumbing in the cellar so that the washing machine could be used there. He also painted the entire flat to an extremely high standard.

The team's commitment was commendable; there were some delays in the work outside Simon's control (due to a difficult neighbour and snow preventing delivery of the kitchen and doors) and the time was made up by working on the weekend and coming all the way back shortly after the job had finished to complete the smallest piece of painting which hadn't been done as the plaster wasn't dry on time.

I have been delighted with Resst Construction and he comes highly recommended by me. I would be happy to talk to anyone directly if they would like more details.
